The Route 110 Redevelopment Corporation is a unique effort to join together the public sector, the private sector and the civic sector to enhance the future development of the Route 110 Corridor on Long Island. The Corridor is home to nearly 20% of Suffolk County's workforce and boasts premier office space, fine hotels, educational institutions, research facilities, and an outstanding selection of family entertainment opportunities.

Each year the Route 110 Redevelopmet Corporation pays tribute to individuals in the public, private and civic sector who have contributed to the contining growth and vitality of the region.

This years honorees will be acknowledged at an awards luncheon on June 22nd at the Huntingting Hilton in Melville.

Economic Development Video Library Launched!

A five (5) part video "Economic Redevelopment Library" on the Route 110 Corridor has been completed. The first video details the ways governments worked together to launch Route110 redevelopment. Part two shows the particular potential of BioTech development. Part three presents the ovrerall benefits of high-tech, environmentally friendly development. The fourth video depicts the quality of Long Island's educational systems, pre-K to grad schools, the very foundation for future positive economic development. The fifth program is a study provided by Farmingdale College on the traffic conditions on the Route 110 corridor.

The Route 110 corridor, which extends through the Towns of Huntington and Babylon, has become one of Long Island's premier business hubs. The corridor's economic focus has shifted dramatically over the past several decades. Once a major agricultural center, it later becamethe focus of manufacturing, warehousing and finally retailing.
